Children love big trucks and candy. Students in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Early Childhood Education program and SkillsUSA at WSWHE BOCES are putting a spin on Halloween. Your average trunk-or-treat event includes decking out cars in the holiday spirit. On October 26, 2024 from 2pm to 5pm, trucks from local businesses will roll down to the F. Donald Myers Education Center at 15 Henning Rd in Saratoga Springs, gather in the parking lot, and give out treats to the public. So dress up in your best Halloween costume and enjoy the afternoon. Additional food items will be available for purchase.

On June 27, 2024, a pinning ceremony recognized 31 students for their hard work, determination and effort that brought them to completion of the Adult Practical Nursing program. These students will now set out to make a difference in health care!

WSWHE BOCES is pleased to celebrate the accomplishments of these hardworking individuals.

Want to learn some new culinary techniques ? How about learning the latest hair braiding trends, seeing Mig welding, or checking out how to operate a mini-excavator? These are just a few of the demonstrations visitors can attend when WSWHE BOCES highlights its Career and Technical Education (CTE) program at the Washington County Fair August 19-25.

So much attention has been given to the skills gap in the United States. The Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex (WSWHE) BOCES Career and Technical Education (CTE) program is pleased to be doing its part in closing that gap by preparing the next generation of skilled workers and industry innovators.

Way to go Isabelle Edmond! Isabelle is the first female WSWHE BOCES CTE student to obtain a Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL). Isabelle is a senior in the Environmental Conservation & Forestry Program from Mechanicville.

Ninety four students from 18 school districts were recognized at the tenth annual Early College Career Academy Completion Ceremony.

Congratulations to Early College Career Academy and Pathways in Technology Early College High School (PTECH) students for receiving National Technical Honor Society awards.

Similar to special events for high school athletes signing commitment letters to colleges where they will play sports, or high school seniors donning collegiate shirts from the colleges where they have been accepted on designated college acceptance days, the WSWHE BOCES Career and Technical Education (CTE) program recognized those students in its programs who will go directly into the workforce by holding a CTE Signing Day on June 5 at the WSWHE BOCES Conference Center.
