PTECH Hosts Third Annual Completion Dinner to Celebrate Graduates' Achievements

The evening was a tribute to the perseverance, dedication, and ambition of the students who successfully completed the rigorous six-year program (some completed in a record 5 years). More than a dozen students graduated, with nearly half able to attend the evening celebration. Instructors shared stories of the students’ growth and applauded their exceptional efforts, resilience and determination to stay the course.

The Pathways in Technology Early College High School (PTECH) program is an innovative education model that prepares students for success in high-demand technology fields by combining high school, college, and career training. Southern Adirondack PTECH is a local implementation of this model, developed through a partnership among WSWHE BOCES, local school districts, SUNY Adirondack, and various industry partners. Students begin the program in ninth grade and work toward earning both a Regents high school diploma and an associate degree from SUNY Adirondack, completely tuition-free, while gaining valuable hands-on experience and credentials needed for today’s workforce.

The program offers two career pathways: Advanced Manufacturing and Information Technology.

This year’s celebration not only marked the completion of a significant milestone but also underscored the power of education, mentorship and community support.
