Our programs prepare you for jobs that employers are trying to fill — both locally and nationally. While many young people are finding it difficult to move forward with their careers, CTE graduates find themselves in demand.

“Our day of reckoning is here. We took the last steps of high school and now start our new lives as adults,” said Schuylerville High School senior Xavier Jones.

He was the student speaker at the F. Donald Myers Education Center's Career and Technical Education Completion and Awards Ceremony on June 18. Xavier completed the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) program and joined the other 280 Career and Technical Education students in receiving their completion certificates at the ceremony held at the Saratoga Springs City Center before family and friends.

In his speech, he said “the world around us is changing and these young adults have been given the tools to go out there and make a change.”

As he looked out into a diverse crowd wearing the many colors their home schools, he quoted Batman, saying “all of us have limits. We learn what they are and not to exceed them. But we ignore ours and we have no limits to what we can accomplish.”

Xavier told fellow students, "I think this suits our class,” and thanked family and teachers and congratulated the class of 2018.
